Richard, don't bother educating Paul in manners. As far as I'm concerned he has had plenty of chances to learn how to behave. Nothing so far has sunk in. Better just leave him than excite him :)
DeMone's initial response to Richard was fine, Richard however after being exposed making a very foolish comment, got all sooky and uppity with DeMone.
Now unfortunately you have needlessly entered the fray for reasons I can only assume are due to DeMone having many a time destroyed the Kool-Aid induced delusions of the AMD Camp Followers.
Richard, what excess 90nm inventory and or 90nm production are you talking about? This is not AMD we're talking about, you know. ;-)
:-D
I'm not saying there's any, I'm was supposing that you run the risk of building one if you push forward the introduction of faster parts too much.
Nothing to make so much fuss about, IMO.
Mr Duck of Death, jack's answer showing that Intel was not pushing really pushing forward the release dates but coming back to the initially planned one was enough to invalidate my supposition and I agree with that. Nevertheless, he's done it politely and without bringing any absurd "camp" rethoric.
This is what pissed me off in Mr Demone's answer, especially since it reflected his attitude for the past two years on Ace's forum and elsewhere.
In fact, that's the only thing that really bothers me, since I don't mind in the slightest who's got the best tech or who's the richer, these are huge companies only concerned in making money and I prefer to spend my empathy with people. But I'm concerned in avoiding monopoolies whatever the industry and I dislike warmongers bringing aggressive rethorics in forums where some people just want to discuss some topics calmly.
But that's probably something you cannot understand either, since you seem to follow the exact same rethoric.
Uffe> Don't worry, I don't plan to expand this thread anymore. :-)
The most gruesomely anti-Intel guys are usually handled by knowledgeable and reasonable participants who point out effectively the stupidity of the fanboys' comments. But without insults, just calmly, and that's perfectly enough.
Doing the white knight actually increase fanboys' activity because of radicalisations of posts, on both sides. It's completely useless.
Many people, like me, tend to support the underdog, not because they "hate" the more powerful ones, but simply because they feel that a world where companies like Microsoft or Intel can reach such monopolistic position that even governments shift their policies according to them, is a dangerous one. On the other hand, I would appreciate if all tech companies had the same policy toward Linux as Intel's, including AMD, and I'm sure most people here recognize Intel's merits.

Guys like Paranoid, Peter Gerassi, Crazy Joe Divola are rarely tackled by these so called "knowledgeable and reasonable" participants.
We're not reading the same forum then. Or answers are lost in the noise.
I've usually seen answers to these guys by Michael_S for instance (too bad he's not around anymore), Gabriele Svelto, Eric Bron, etc.
The answers were always technically sound and usually made more powerful as they were civil.

Well, this is hardly technical then ...
Otherwise, I fully support your statements in the thread.
Well, from my point of view, on the technical aspect, both Intel and AMD are impressive companies and deliver awesome technologies.
I don't understand why somebody cannot acknowledge the fact that both delivers remarkable products and feel the needs to downplay one in order to praise the other.
